Pupils at Brighton College Bangkok are celebrating record-breaking success as they received outstanding examination results this week. Top grades have been awarded to the largest ever cohort of graduating pupils in the school’s history, with acceptances into the widest range of universities globally. The results confirm Brighton College Bangkok’s position as one of the leading international schools in Asia for academic excellence.
Exceptional success has been seen across the widest range of subjects. While pupils studying Further Mathematics and Physics were among the school’s top performers, more than two-thirds of pupils received A* or A grades in subjects such as Business Studies. Head Master Nick Gallop said: "We are immensely proud of this exceptional group of pupils. Not only for their record-breaking academic performances but also for the compassion and commitment they have shown throughout their time at the College. This is the year group who led support for flood relief efforts in Chiang Mai and have worked so hard with Bangkok Community Help to support vulnerable communities across the city. They leave behind an academic legacy of distinction and a moral example for younger pupils to follow."
One of Brighton College Bangkok’s pupils, Kotaro, received four A* grades, achieving the entry requirements to study Computer Science at Cambridge University. Kotaro said: "The academic rigour and personalised teaching I received at Brighton College Bangkok made all the difference. I was constantly challenged to go beyond the curriculum, and the support with my university application was outstanding. I’m incredibly excited about what lies ahead."
Matt Gilberthorpe, incoming Head of Senior School said: "I am thrilled to be joining Brighton College Bangkok at such an exciting time. These outstanding A Level results are a testament to the pupils’ dedication and the immense support of their teachers and families. I could not be more delighted to be here to celebrate their success and look forward to building on this excellence together."
Of the many success stories, pupils such as Freya secured the grades to study Geography at University College London, Ten Ten’s outstanding examination achievements see her go on to study Psychology at Chulalongkorn University, and Dunk’s A* and A grades secured him a place at the University of Bath to study Computer Science. Sophie Peat, Head of Sixth Form, added: "These results are a testament to the ambition and perseverance of our pupils. They have secured hundreds of university offers, including places at The University of Cambridge, University College London, Northeastern University and Thammasat University. Our pupils are studying a wide range of courses, from Business and Accounting to Interior Design and all over the world. We are thrilled to see so many of them fulfilling their academic ambitions at the very highest level."
With continued growth, a global perspective and a holistic view of education that blends academic challenge with character development, Brighton College Bangkok is setting new benchmarks for international education in the region.
